Despite tall claims of capital police, crime rate in Islamabad is increasing with each passing day, creating a sense of insecurity among the residents. Around 34 criminal cases were reported at different police stations of Islamabad, including robberies, car thefts, murders and issuance of fake cheques during the last week. The scared residents of the capital believe that the city has become safe haven for the robbers and criminals due to the negligence of police high-ups.

According to the data gathered by Business Recorder, at least three persons were murdered whereas 12 cases of robberies, 10 of car lifting and seven cases of fake cheques issuance were reported at different police stations of the city last week. Margalla Police Station registered three cases of car jacking and one case each of fake cheque and robbery last week. Kohsar Police Station registered two cases each of robbery, car lifting and fake cheques issuance last week.

Similarly, two cases of robbery and one case each of kidnapping and fake cheque issuance was reported at Golra Police Station past week. Sabzi Mandi Police Station registered two cases of murder and one case each of car lifting and kidnapping during last week. Industrial Area Police Station registered two cases of fake cheques issuance and one case each of robbery and car lifting past week. Tarnol Police Station registered two cases of car lifting whereas Ramna, Shahzad Town and Nilor Police Station registered one case each of robbery during last week. In the jurisdiction of Koral Police Station one person was murdered and Bara Kahu Police Station registered one case of fake cheque issuance last week.
